$1 million Fire Station Debt Exclusion Article
If Maynard voters approve the $1 million debt exclusion, it will be contingent upon receiving adequate Federal funding. If no adequate Federal funding is forthcoming then the debt exclusion will not be acted upon.

An OPPORTUNITY!
The Maynard PSBC(Public Safety Building Committee) has spent the past 2 years studying the needs of the Maynard Fire Department, what is required in a modern fire department facility, and what would be the most economical and beneficial path to follow for the renovation or replacement of the existing building. The Maynard PSBC would like to share its findings, answer your questions, and solicit your input.
The Maynard Selectboard has been working hard to solicit the State and Federal governments for funding from the Federal Stimulus Package for several potential projects in the Town, including the construction of a new fire station. As Maynard citizens you should know how the conclusions were reached about the need for such a facility, where it would be located, what it might look like, and how much it would cost.
And even if the Federal funding does not materialize, the need for the renovation or replacement of the existing building will remain. Over the past several years the various Maynard Boards and Committees have made a commitment to plan proactively for Maynard's fiscal future, to better allocate your tax dollars and to avoid financial surprises that could have been foreseen with better planning and forecasting. Now that the new Police Station is in operation, the Maynard PSBC has been working with those Town Boards and Committees to plan for the future needs of the Fire Department.
The Public Safety Building Committee is presenting its its findings and recommendations.

Police Station Open House and Ribbon cutting
Enjoyed by many on Thursday April 23rd
This event, which was open to all Maynard residents, was the official opening of the new Police Station.
Many joined in to tour the station and see first hand the Town's new facility and meet with members of the Police Department, Board of Selectmen and Public Safety Building Committee who worked diligently over the last two years to make the station a reality.
The Maynard Police Department would like to extend their gratitude to the residents of Maynard for their overwhelming support. It could not of happened without you.
